Is it anxiety, or just
a rough week?
2 minutes. Free. Completely anonymous. You're not the only one wondering if what you're feeling is "just stress" or something more. The test doesn't ask for your name or email, and nothing is sent anywhere — your answers stay in your browser.
Based on GAD-7, the questionnaire used by therapists and researchers internationally for anxiety screening.
how it works
This is a self-assessment tool, not a diagnosis. But it can show you whether what you're going through has a pattern, and whether it's worth talking to someone about it. Answer the 7 questions below, thinking about the last 2 weeks.
And no, you're not a rare case: European studies show that over 6% of adults have an anxiety disorder in a given year, and between 9 and 16% over their lifetime. Sources: ESEMeD 2004, Kessler 2007 (WHO), Wittchen 2011.

frequently asked questions
What you should know about this test.
What is the GAD-7 anxiety test?
GAD-7 is a 7-question self-assessment questionnaire widely used by therapists and researchers for generalized anxiety screening. It's a validated, publicly available instrument.
Is the anxiety test free and anonymous?
Yes. The test takes about 2 minutes, it's completely free, and your score is calculated directly in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and no name or email is required to see your result.
Is this online anxiety test a diagnosis?
No. It's a self-assessment tool based on GAD-7, not a clinical evaluation. Only a licensed psychologist or therapist can diagnose. Your result shows whether your symptoms follow a pattern, not a medical conclusion.
How common are anxiety disorders?
Common. The European ESEMeD study (Alonso et al., 2004) found that over 6% of adults have an anxiety disorder in a given year, and 13.6% over their lifetime. The WHO World Mental Health synthesis (Kessler et al., 2007) estimates lifetime prevalence between 9.9% and 16.7%, and the extended EU estimate (Wittchen et al., 2011) puts annual prevalence as high as 14%. Full citations are in the sources section.
How is the anxiety test score calculated?
The sum of your answers to the 7 GAD-7 questions gives a score from 0 to 21, split into 4 bands: minimal (0-4), mild (5-9), moderate (10-14), and severe (15-21).
How often should I retake the anxiety test?
There's no fixed rule. If symptoms persist or change, you can retake the test periodically, for example every few weeks, to see if the pattern holds or shifts.
What should I do if my score shows moderate or severe anxiety?
Consider talking to a psychologist or therapist. You can also read the free guide "5 things to know before your first therapy session", available above, right after your result.
